Sapling: a young tree, older and taller than a seedling.
Grafted: a branch from a good variety joined to a strong root. It fruits sooner and gives the same fruit as the mother tree.
Marcotted: a branch that grew its own roots while still on the mother tree.
Tissue-cultured: grown in a lab, so the plants are uniform. Common for banana.
Leaves: green and clean, with no spots, holes or pests.
Stem: straight and sturdy for its height.
Roots: not crowded or circling inside the bag.
Graft: on grafted trees, the joint should be clean and fully healed.
